Attended the Gunnas Writing Masterclass with the hilarious, irreverent, brilliant Catherine Deveny in Bendigo yesterday. Wasn't sure I was up for it after being away in New Zealand for the previous two weeks, but Dev blew away the cobwebs with her inimitable style. Anyone who writes, whether it be for fun or work, whether you get paid or not, whether you want to write your own memoirs or the next Australian literary masterpiece, I highly recommend doing this course. I also highly recommend Dev's book Use Your Words, which I read earlier this year and then signed up for her masterclass straight away. Not only is her book great for writers, I think it's a great book tonnes of inspiration and matter-of-fact wisdom. A piece of writing I slapped together during the masterclass is available on Dev's website (cause that's how generous she is to her "Gunnas" (participants in her Gunnas workshops). Please check it out (below) and let me know what you think! And don't forget to check out all the upcoming workshops with Dev, her books and where else you can see/hear her.
