The live reading of Out of Nowhere will take place on Wednesday 27th November at the Auspicious Incubator, 228 Bank Street, St Melbourne under the direction of award-winning director Corrie Chen
Very excited that Out of Nowhere will be staged as a live reading through the Victorian Branch of the Australian Writers Guild in Melbourne towards the end of November!
Shortlist & Winner of 'What's Love Got To Do With It?’
The Australian Writers' Guild congratulates the winner and shortlisted entrants of our 50th Anniversary 'What's Love Got To Do With It?' Screenwriting Competition. The winning script is Out Of Nowhere by Matthew Barker from Victoria. Matthew wins a 20 February day pass to the NSC to attend the 'What’s Love Got To Do With It?' session, the Shameless Summer Soiree BBQ, and the evening’s entertainment starting with the legendary NSC Trivia Hour, plus a copy of Final Draft 8, a micro-mentorship with one of the panelists of the 'What’s Love Got To Do With It?' session, and his script will be read by renowned producers of the genre. The two runners up are Kindred by Rachel Kelly from Victoria and Buenos Aires by Brendan Gore from Queensland. Rachel and Brendan will each receive a 20 February day pass to the NSC to attend the 'What’s Love Got To Do With It?' session, the Shameless Summer Soiree BBQ and the evening’s entertainment including Trivia Hour with quizmasters Mac Gudgeon and Jon Stephens. These scripts have also been added to the AWG’s Pathways Program, an initiative designed to fast-track potential projects by matching the writer with targeted producers and production executives. The judges were overwhelmed with the quality of scripts received, and commended all writers involved for making the selection process so difficult for them – they agonised over what was a very close call, which is why the announcement has come in slightly late. |
